1 Purpose

These terms of use (the "Terms of Use" or CGU) govern the use of the Lanti mobile application (the "Application"), published by VISION PM (the "Publisher") and distributed on Apple's App Store.

The Application answers a child's questions out loud, offers quizzes and curiosity challenges, and gives the parent a Parent area (Espace parent) to follow and guide what the child discovers.

By installing and then setting up the Application, the parent declares that they have read and accepted these Terms of Use as well as the privacy policy, which can be consulted at any time in Parent area › Settings › Legal information.

2 Who uses the Application

The parent. The Application is set up, configured and supervised by an adult of legal age who holds parental authority over the child, or who has the consent of the person who does (the "Parent"). It is the Parent who accepts the Terms of Use, on their own behalf and on behalf of the child.

The child. The Application is designed for a child aged four to twelve, whose year of birth the Parent enters, and who uses it on the Parent's iPhone or on an iPhone entrusted to them by the Parent, under the Parent's responsibility.

Supervision. The Parent does not need to be present at every use. However, the Parent regularly follows and supervises their child's activity in the Application through the Parent area (every question asked and its answer, refused questions, quiz and challenge results), and adjusts the settings where necessary.

The Parent area is protected by a parent code chosen during initial setup. The Parent keeps this code secret and is responsible for it. If the Parent enables it in the settings, the iPhone's Face ID (or Touch ID) also opens the Parent area; the code always remains available. The Parent enables it only if the iPhone recognises them alone, and not their child. If the Parent forgets their code, "Forgotten code?" lets them choose a new one once the iPhone's Face ID (or Touch ID) has recognised them; the Parent therefore makes sure that the iPhone does not recognise their child.

3 What the Application does

  • Questions out loud. The child taps the character and asks their question. The voice is converted into text on the iPhone; the audio is never sent. The text of the question is then checked against a list of blocked words and, if there is no answer already known on the iPhone and if the Parent has agreed to it, checked by Mistral AI's moderation service and sent to Mistral AI's artificial intelligence service, which processes it in Europe, together with the child's age in years, their gender (boy or girl), the names of the enabled blocked topics and, within a single session, the latest questions and answers of that session, so that it can write an answer suited to that age. A question that touches on an enabled blocked topic gets no answer: the child is invited to talk about it with their parents. After an answer, the character may suggest another, educational, question on the same topic: if the child answers "yes", it is asked on their behalf; if the child answers "no", they are invited to ask another question. Without this agreement, the child is invited to ask an adult the question. Before being spoken, the answer and the question suggested next are in turn checked by Mistral AI: a refused answer is never spoken, the child is invited to talk about it with their parents, and the answer that was withheld is kept for the Parent under Incidents. A refused question or answer is not counted against the day's questions. If the check is not available, no new question is sent: the child hears the answers already present on the iPhone. The answer is read out loud by a synthetic voice running on the iPhone.
  • Quizzes and challenges. The Application builds quizzes of four to six questions according to the child's age, from the serious questions already asked, the most serious first; a new quiz may be offered after six new questions asked to Lanti; a question asked in a quiz comes back in the following ones: answered correctly on its third appearance, it no longer comes back; missed, it comes back until it is answered correctly. If the Parent has agreed to it, each quiz is checked by Mistral AI before being offered; a refused quiz is never offered. The Application also offers curiosity challenges: those supplied with the Application and those the Parent writes themselves. The supplied challenges are grouped into galaxies of four planets; at each game on a planet, seven different questions are drawn at random, those the child has not yet found first. Three galaxies are supplied with the Application; the Parent obtains the others, free of charge, in the Parent area, each one in full, and can then disable or re-enable it. Every completed planet earns the child a collectible card; a completed galaxy also opens a costume in Lanti's wardrobe, and some festivities (Halloween, Christmas, Bastille Day…) open one during their period. Every completed quiz earns stars, whatever the result (from half a star to three stars, depending on the right answers): they shine above Lanti's house and on Lanti. Seven stars lit on Lanti earn a surprise accessory from an open costume (glasses, a hat…), which the child discovers by opening Lanti's wardrobe and can have Lanti wear or take off; wearing it for the first time puts the seven stars out, and they light up again quiz after quiz. The cards, the costumes, the stars and the accessories stay on the iPhone.
  • Parent's challenges. The Parent guides what their child discovers by writing their own challenges, on the topic of their choice (family, school, values, memories, house rules…), and can read them in their own voice. These challenges stay on the iPhone.
  • Parent's voice. The Parent can read out loud, themselves, the challenges they have written. These recordings stay on the iPhone: the Application does not send them anywhere and excludes them from backups.
  • Parent area. Questions asked and their answers, refused questions, blocked topics and words (adding, editing, removing, enabling or disabling a topic, 20 topics at most), the child's age and gender, quiz and challenge tracking (for each planet: questions answered correctly, missed and not yet asked, and the number of attempts before the right answer), galaxies obtained and their date, play time per day and time played today, the Parent's challenges and their voice recordings, parent code and, if the Parent enables it, Face ID, legal information.
  • Safety limits. Number of questions limited per day; play time limited per day: the Parent chooses the length, from 10 min to 3 h in steps of 10 min, in Parent area › Settings › Cadre de la journée; until they choose one, it is the length advised for the child's age (4 to 6: 20 min; 7 to 9: 1 h; 10 to 12: 1 h 30). Beyond it, the Application reminds the Parent that prolonged screen exposure is not recommended at that age. This time is only counted while the child is playing. Five minutes before the end, the child is told; at the end, the activity under way finishes, then the Application stays closed until the next day. Play time and the day's questions start again every night at 2 am. In addition, we recommend using iOS Guided Access so that the child stays within the Application.

The Application contains no advertising, no in-app purchases (additional galaxies are obtained free of charge), no external links accessible to the child, and no messaging. Neither the Parent nor the child has an account to open. The child's data stays on the iPhone, except as described in article 9.

4 Access requirements

  • An iPhone running iOS 26.5 or later.
  • An Internet connection for questions that have no answer already known on the iPhone. Without a connection, the Application keeps working with its local answers and content.

Access to Mistral AI's artificial intelligence service and to its safety check is provided by the Publisher, which uses these services on its own account, through its own server, at no cost to the Parent: the Parent has no account to open, no access key to enter and no bill to pay. This server accepts only requests from a genuine copy of the Application on an Apple device (Apple's attestation) and limits the number of calls from each installation.

5 Answers produced by artificial intelligence

Answers are written by an artificial intelligence model from instructions designed for a young child. The Parent is informed that:

  • an answer may be inaccurate, incomplete or oversimplified; it constitutes neither validated teaching nor medical, legal, psychological or safety advice;
  • the list of blocked words filters only the words it contains: a question phrased differently, misspelt or in another language may get through. The enabled blocked topics are also sent to the artificial intelligence service as an instruction, which that service may not follow every time. The artificial intelligence service's own safeguards and Mistral AI's safety check apply in addition, without being guaranteed: an automatic check may let unsuitable content through or refuse content that was not unsuitable;
  • the Application does not replace the educational guidance of an adult.

The Parent reviews the questions asked, adds to the list of blocked words and configures the Application according to their child's age and sensitivity.

6 Content added by the Parent

The Parent can add challenges on any topic of their choice (text, image or GIF), blocked topics and words, and recordings of their own voice (the "Parent's Content").

It stays on the iPhone. The Parent's Content is saved only on the iPhone where it was created. The Application never sends it anywhere: not to the artificial intelligence service, not to VISION PM, not to anyone. It is not shared with other users; only the Parent's child sees and hears it, on that iPhone.

The Parent is its author and solely responsible for it. VISION PM has no access to the Parent's Content, does not see it, check it, moderate it or host it; the list of blocked words applies only to the child's questions, not to this content. Consequently, VISION PM is not responsible for its accuracy, its suitability for the child or its consequences. Only the challenges supplied with the Application fall under VISION PM's responsibility.

The Parent warrants that they hold the necessary rights to the images and texts they add, that the voice recordings are of their own voice (or made with the consent of the person recorded), and that their content is lawful and suitable for their child. The Parent undertakes not to use the Application to convey to the child content that is unlawful or contrary to the child's interests.

The Application excludes voice recordings from backups. If the Parent chooses to copy or store their content, including their voice, in iCloud, on a computer or in any other service, they do so under their sole responsibility and subject to the terms of that service: VISION PM is not responsible for iCloud or for third-party services.

Deleting a challenge deletes its voice recordings. The "Delete my voice" button deletes them without deleting the challenge. Deleting the Application deletes all of this content.

7 Parent's undertakings

The Parent undertakes to:

  • use the Application for their personal and family use, in accordance with these Terms of Use and the law;
  • regularly follow and supervise the child's activity in the Parent area, without being required to be present at every use;
  • keep the parent code secret;
  • not circumvent the Application's protections, not decompile it and not use it to produce content that is unlawful or unsuitable for a child.

8 Intellectual property

The Application, its design, its texts, characters, sounds and supplied content are protected by copyright and belong to the Publisher or its licensors. The Publisher grants the Parent a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the Application on the Apple devices they own or control, within the limits of the App Store Terms of Use.

The Application includes third-party components distributed under their own licences (in particular the synthetic voice and its engine). The full list, with the licence texts, can be found in Parent area › Settings › Credits and licences.

9 Personal data

The Application is designed so that data stays on the iPhone. The only information that leaves it is what is sent to Mistral AI, in Europe, to write an answer or a quiz — the text of the question and the earlier exchanges of the session, the child's age in years, their gender, the names of the enabled blocked topics and, for a quiz, questions and answers already heard — and the text of the questions, answers and quizzes checked by Mistral AI, a processor acting for the Publisher, which does not use them to train its models, and only if the Parent has explicitly agreed to it during setup or in Parent area › Settings › Artificial intelligence. These texts pass through the Publisher's server, which forwards them without keeping them. To this are added, unless the Parent disables them, anonymous usage statistics that measure the Application's audience solely on the Publisher's behalf (actions performed in the Application, limits reached, the child's age range, technical information), grouped under a randomly generated identifier renewed at most every 13 months, with no link to the Parent, without the content of the questions or any information that could identify the child or the Parent, sent to TelemetryDeck on the Publisher's behalf; the Parent can object to them at any time by disabling them in Parent area › Settings. The child's first name is never sent. The privacy policy sets out what is processed, where, for how long, and how to erase it.

10 Availability and liability

The Application is provided as is. The Publisher endeavours to keep it working properly but does not guarantee that it is free of errors, nor the continuous availability of the artificial intelligence service and of the safety check, which depend on Mistral AI, or of iOS, which depends on Apple.

To the extent permitted by law, the Publisher is not liable for indirect damages, for the consequences of using an answer, of a use that does not comply with these Terms of Use or of a lack of supervision, nor for Apple's services (iCloud, backups, App Store), which are governed by their own terms. Nothing in these Terms of Use excludes the Publisher's liability in the event of gross negligence or wilful misconduct, nor the rights the Parent holds under mandatory provisions of consumer law.

11 Term, updates and end of use

The Terms of Use apply for as long as the Application is installed. The Parent can stop using it at any time by deleting it from the iPhone, which erases the data it kept there; the Publisher holds nothing to erase.

The Publisher may change the Application and these Terms of Use. Each version carries a number and an effective date. In the event of a significant change, the Parent is informed in the Application; continued use after this notice constitutes acceptance of the new version.

12 Provisions relating to Apple

In accordance with the App Store rules:

  • these Terms of Use are concluded between the Parent and the Publisher only, and not with Apple Inc. or its subsidiaries ("Apple"); the Publisher, and not Apple, is solely responsible for the Application and its content;
  • the licence to use the Application is limited to use on Apple-branded products that the Parent owns or controls, in compliance with the usage rules set out in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions;
  • the Publisher is solely responsible for the maintenance and support of the Application; Apple has no obligation in this respect;
  • if the Application fails to conform to any applicable warranty, the Parent may notify Apple, which will refund the purchase price, if any; to the extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation;
  • the Publisher, and not Apple, is responsible for handling any claim relating to the Application (product liability, failure to comply with legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection, privacy);
  • in the event of a third-party claim that the Application infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, the Publisher, and not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim;
  • the Parent declares that they are not located in a country subject to a United States embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that they are not on any United States government list of prohibited or restricted parties;
  • the Parent complies with the third-party terms of service that apply to them when using the Application;
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms of Use and may, upon acceptance, enforce them against the Parent.

Any question or complaint relating to the Application is to be sent to the Publisher (contact details in article 14).

13 Governing law and disputes

These Terms of Use are governed by French law. In the event of a difficulty, the Parent may contact the Publisher (article 14) in order to seek an amicable solution.

In accordance with articles L. 611-1 et seq. of the Code de la consommation (French Consumer Code), if a written complaint to the Publisher has not resolved the dispute, the consumer Parent may make free use of the consumer mediator the Publisher belongs to: CM2C – Centre de la Médiation de la Consommation de Conciliateurs de Justice, 49 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris; website: https://www.cm2c.net (online or by post).

Failing agreement, the dispute is brought before the competent courts under the ordinary rules of jurisdiction; the consumer Parent may, at their option, bring the matter before the court of the place where they resided at the time the contract was concluded or the harmful event occurred.
